MIR440A

4 Input x 4 Output DSP Processor

Overview

The Marani MIR440A boasts an extremely low noise floor, a high dynamic range, and a robust internal DSP. This makes it versatile enough for use in various settings, including meeting rooms, theaters, touring performances, and even large-scale tours. The advanced circuit design and original DSP algorithm form the backbone of its pure and high-quality sound.

The signal processing component of the MIR440A houses a powerful MARANI DSP. The DSP and AD/DA converters operate at a 96KHz sampling rate, providing comprehensive processing functions for a complete speaker crossover solution.

The MIR440A offers a wide range of processing options, from input gain, delay, noise gate, EQ, compression, and FIR to output gain, delay, polarity, frequency division, FIR, EQ, and compression. It supports up to 16 types of parametric equalizer (PEQ) filter types. The output crossover filter includes classic options like Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel, and Butterworth, as well as NXF horn-type filters and FIR filters with a slope of up to 120dB per octave. The recently added MIR linear phase frequency divider filter simplifies the phase joining at the crossover point and results in a lower delay, all contributing to superior sound quality.

The MIR440A also comes with an added DSP plug-in, providing a 96kHz FIR filter, high-order signal generator, RTA real-time spectrum analyzer, and more. The newly designed Hard Limiter imposes a constant rate limit on signals exceeding any threshold, offering better protection for the speaker unit.

Each input and output channel is equipped with a maximum 512-tap FIR filter, which can be customized using third-party software to generate the FIR convolution you need. This can be used for speaker presets to enhance the phase response and control the directivity as per requirements.

The newly incorporated MIR linear phase divider filter, shaped like the traditional IIR filter (Linkwitz-Riley 24+48/oct), does not introduce any phase shift. The resulting delay is about 50% of that of the FIR filter.

Features

Channels:
4 input channels and 4 output channels

Sampling Rate:
96KHz Ensures high-quality audio processing.

Frequency Response:
Flat frequency response between 20-40Khz. It boasts a low background noise level of -94dBu and can handle a maximum input level of +20dBu.

Matrix Mixing:
Innovative full matrix mixing allows any input channel to be routed to the output channel. Even multiple non-adjacent output channels can be overlaid and mixed into the physical output.

RMS Compressor:
Each input and output channel comes with an RMS compressor, which can manage signal dynamics on the input channel or be used to shape the sound intensity. The newly designed peak limiter with extremely low distortion can protect the speaker unit from sudden large dynamic signals, thereby ensuring system safety.

FIR Filter:
Each channel is fitted with an FIR filter that supports up to 1024 Taps.

MIR Linear Phase Crossover Filter:
The device introduces a new MIR linear phase divider filter. This frequency divider filter, shaped like a classical filter (LR24/48), does not produce any phase distortion, ensuring a flat phase curve.

Network Interface:
The device is equipped with a standard network port for direct connection to a PC via a network cable. It uses DHCP by default to automatically obtain an IP address, enabling one-click connection setup.

Marshalling Settings:
The new marshalling setting allows simultaneous control of 32 processors. It can uniformly control gain, mute, PEQ, and polarity, enhancing the convenience of multi-device debugging.

Dynamic Loudness :
The input channel is fitted with a dynamic loudness riser, which can significantly enhance the listening experience.

Plug-in:
The device includes a plug-in that offers a 96kHz FIR filter with extended bandwidth, a high-order signal generator, and an RTA spectrum analyzer.
